SONNET 73 music for a photography exhibition by Francesco Zanet
"I was asked by Francesco Zanet, photographer, to compose a music for his upcoming exhibition. He had made incredible pictures of and old army station located just nearby. I was impressed by the power of the images and I felt an immediate nostalgia watching all the old facilities being demolished. Sonnet 73 came to my mind and suddenly I wanted to put it it into music. I used contemporary techiques such as electronic effects to give a dreamy atmosphere. Afterwards I wrote a score for cello ensemble and tools. The tools were necessary to have the metal sound I needed to descirbed what I saw in the picture.
Premiered at the Triennale of Milan in 2014.
