Anne Frank: The diary and the Music of a Young Girl

19 January 2019, 7:30 pm

"Will I ever be able to write something great? I hope so very much, because writing allows me to record everything: all my thoughts , ideals, fantasies." Anne Frank

With 30 milions copies in print sold all over the world, the Anne Frank's Diary, better known for the english audience as "Anne Frank: The Diary of a young girl", was translated in over 60 languages and it is considered the most iconic testimony of the tragedy of the Holocaust.

"Die Romanze" moved its first step steps from a touching moment that can summerise the intimate spirit of this young girl:

"It’s utterly impossible for me to build my life on a foundation of chaos, suffering and death. "

The project starts from a reflection on how Art can preserve the mankind from the deepest part of its soul and save it from traumas and from the horrors of the world. The reading of some extracts from the Anne Frank's Diary are accompanied by the compositions for Cello and Piano written by the composers: Felix Mendelssohn, Marco Sofianopulo, Leone Sinigaglia and Guido Alberto Fano - these last two were italians with jewish descent and they were victims of racial discrimination.
